A day trip to Komodo is ideal if you have limited time on your holiday. This tour lets you visit 6 places, including Komodo and Padar Island. One-day tour to Komodo is based on a shared trip with a high-speed boat. It departs daily from Labuan Bajo.

Multi-day trips are the perfect way to experience Komodo National Park. These types of Komodo boat trips allow you to visit more places. We are available for 2 to 5-day Liveaboard trips to Komodo. You can select to go on a private or shared Komodo boat trip.

Private Komodo Tour offers a more customized and personalized experience. You will hire a boat and crew, then explore the Komodo National Park at your own pace. The private Komodo trips are only available for departure from Labuan Bajo and end in Labuan Bajo.

Komodo National Park Entrance Fees for 2025

The Komodo entrance fee for 2025 has been officially released in December 2024 by the Indonesian government. Here are the details of the entrance fee to Komodo:

• IDR 600,000 per person for foreigners
• IDR 400.000 per person for Indonesia

The Komodo entrance fee may be changed, depending on the government policy. You will have to pay the entrance fee directly to the authority of Komodo National Park.

Flight is one of the main things for your Komodo Island tour. Several flights are operating from major cities in Indonesia, like Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali. However, the most recommended way to get a flight to Labuan Bajo is from Bali, as it is a close airport to Labuan Bajo.

The Estimated Cost for Personal Expenses

This may not be the main thing, but you still have to prepare enough cash for your expenses. Here is the breakdown of the additional personal expenses you may need to prepare:

• Extra cost for beverages, favorite snacks, etc. The boat may not provide alcoholic drinks on the ship. Therefore, you need to buy for yourself. You can stop at the shopping center in Labuan Bajo before getting on the boat.
• Tips for the Guide (Optional). This is optional; however, if you are happy with the service, you may give them a small tip.

We assume the estimated additional cost for your expenses is from IDR 1,500.000 to IDR 2,000,000, depending on what you need to spend.

Where Does the Komodo Tour Start from?

Most tours to Komodo start from Labuan Bajo. However, you can also start the trip from Lombok by joining our four-day trip from Lombok.

Labuan Bajo is located at the western tip of Flores Island, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is the main gateway to start a trip to Komodo Island. Meanwhile, Lombok is located in West Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia.

Labuan Bajo is a perfect place to start if you plan to do various trips to Komodo. However, if you plan to do a long adventure and expect to see the Whale Shark, you can start from either place, Labuan Bajo or Lombok.

The best way to get to Komodo Airport in Labuan Bajo is by flight from Bali or other major cities in Indonesia. Moreover, the other options are by ferry or a big ship from Bali. Here are the details to get to Labuan Bajo:

1. Flight from Bali or other major Cities in Indonesia

Several flights operate daily from Bali and other major cities like Surabaya and Jakarta. Here are the flights that regularly operate to Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo:

• Batik Air has a regular schedule from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, Bali to Komodo International Airprot, Labuan Bajo.
• Air Asia operates a regular schedule from Ngurah Rai International Airport to Komodo Airport, Labuan Bajo.
• Lion Air has a regular schedule from Ngurah Rai International Airport to Komodo International Airport, Labuan Bajo.

2. Ferry or Big Ship from Bali

If you plan to get to Labuan Bajo by Ferry or a big ship from Bali. Here are a few steps to do it:

• By ferry and bus. Get on the bus from the Ubung terminal or take a private car to Padang Bai. Book a ferry ticket to Lombok. Afterward, get on the bus to Kayangan harbor, East Lombok, and then ferry to Pototano, Sumbawa Island. You will get on the bus from Sumbawa to Pelabuhan Sape (Sape harbor). From Sape, you will get on the ferry to Labuan Bajo. The total time to spend is approximately 32 to 24 hours.
• Big ship(PELNI) from Bali. The ship departs twice a month. Buy an online ticket via the official website of PELNI and then take a private car to Benoa harbor. After that, get on the ship. The ship will take approximately 32 hours to get to Labuan Bajo.

The Best Time to Visit Komodo

The best time to visit Komodo National Park is between April to September. During this period, the weather conditions are more favorable, sunny, and not so rainy. The sea condition is average.

Here are details of a great time to visit the Komodo National Park:

April to June is a great time to visit. The islands look green and lush after the rainy season. This is also the best time to spot Manta Rays and Komodo Dragons. The sea condition is calm, and the weather is sunny.

July to August is the best time to observe the mating of Komodo Dragons and see them in action. They are more active during this season. However, you will have to take a long trek to find them.

September to November is a good opportunity to see the majestic Manta Rays and other amazing underwater life in the Komodo National Park area.

December to March is not recommended. However, you can still visit in December, November, and March. The sea conditions are rough and heavy rain from January to February. Our boat trip may not be running during this period.
