Batu Penyu is located on Sungkun Beach in Southeast Lombok Indonesia. The small island in the middle of the sea is shaped like a turtle, that is why the island is called Batu Penyu or in English Turtle Stone. The wave here is coming quite big, so it is not good to have a swim here or snorkel.
You can reach Batu Penyu by car or motorbike. If you are in Mataram or Senggigi, it takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours drive. The road is good from Mataram and Senggigi to Jero Waru (pavement) about 25 km from Jero Waru, but the road is not good enough.
Not many people have their holiday here as this beach is far enough away and still not popular yet. You need to go with many people if you want to visit this place. Otherwise, you can join our Lombok tour packages for the best experience.
Just before Batu Penyu Beach, on the right side, there is another beautiful beach called Pantai Surga. The beach is also a beauty with a white sandy beach.
Not so much thing to do here, just relax, have a beautiful seascape, and wait for the sunset. On the other side of the beach, you can walk to the hill on your left. You can take pictures here. Just be careful due to the safety reason is not really safe for the selfie as it is a dangerous cliff. The best you can do here is do some landscape photography when the sunset is coming.
There are no restaurants and accommodations here at the moment or even Warung. So if you want to visit this place, you need to prepare your own stuff such as lunch, snacks, etc.
There is no population living here and it is quite far away from the village, it is maybe 2 km from the beach.
